Read the stories that the ESOL students wrote to finish this scary beginning ...
Belinda stepped out of her
house into the cool autumn garden. It was late in the afternoon and Belinda
enjoyed looking at the beautiful, golden and red leaves of the trees. “What a
day!” she thought, “ I am really tired after my day at work.”
Belinda started to work in
the garden. While she was working, the sun slowly disappeared behind dark
clouds. When Belinda looked up, the pretty garden all of a sudden looked cold
and abandoned. Belinda felt cold and scared all of a sudden.
“Time to go inside!” she
thought and turned around towards the house, when a very loud, spooky, howling
sound made her stop. It came from the far end of her garden where tall old
trees were growing.......
THE FRIENDLY MAGIC WOLF
She was nervous and her teeth were chattering, but she
wanted to be brave.
Then the howling noise stopped. So she turned around.
She saw the wolf wanted to get out of the tree, but he was stuck.
Belinda thought, “What can I do?” and she decided she was going
to help him.
So Belinda and the wolf were going to be friends, but
sometimes she saw his sharp teeth and she was scared.
But Belinda and the wolf
helped each other.
He helped her with her work and made her dinner.
She iooked after his wounds.

And then something came out from the trees and she got a
shock and was scared. She couldn’t see the something, because it was dark now.
She thought, “Let’s go inside!” She ran away and she looked
back quickly. Something chased her. She looked ahead and ran to the door.
She looked back and something still chased her. Finally she
went to the front door and she opened it and went in.
She ran to her room and she thought, “I think I forgot
something …!?” – YES – She didn’t close the door!
Sge picked up an iron stick and walked to the door. But what
did she see? “Is that you?” she shouted. It was her pet dog. He said, “Pat me!”
(dog language) and Belinda patted him.
Belinda ate her dinner and her dog ate dog food and they
slept.

Ally's amazing text about a dream coming true ....
My crazy dream is true.
A pretty melody fills my ears and I can see a beautiful top
model in the mirror.
I am so surprised because I have changed in to a top model.
My legs are long and my hair is long and straight, and I’m
tall and very, very pretty.
Many people admire me. I am famous and popular. I go to
fashion shows in Seoul.
People take pictures of me, I am a model walking on the cat
walk.
I can wear skinny jeans and a pretty dress.

Jane, Rumi and Benjamin are creating a setting for a story and make us feel part of their story world!
We were sitting around the crackling fire. Outside the wind
was howling and roaring, while we were sitting here nice and safe. The fire was
fissing and sizzling. The storm was blasting and the wind was terrible. The
trees were falling to the ground like they were rocks falling to the ground.
The thunder sounded like a detonation. But we were nice and cosy in here, so
it didn’t worry us what was out there.

We were sitting around the crackling fire. Outside the wind was blowing and shrieking. The storm blew like a scary, terrible monster. The wind sounded like a roaring lion. The lightning hit a tree and the tree fell down. Luckily the burning fire made me feel so warm.

We were sitting around the crackling fire. Outside the wind was so loud and so cold that I had to have many jumpers on. The thunder was so loud it was blasting my ears. The wind was screeching. It was terrible. The trees were falling like it was an earthquake, but luckily the fire was burning hot, so I wouldn't get too cold. The noise of the thunder was so loud it gave me a headache.
