Jane, Rumi and Benjamin are creating a setting for a story and make us feel part of their story world!

We were sitting around the crackling fire. Outside the wind was howling and roaring, while we were sitting here nice and safe. The fire was fissing and sizzling. The storm was blasting and the wind was terrible. The trees were falling to the ground like they were rocks falling to the ground. The thunder sounded like a detonation. But we were nice and cosy in here, so it didn’t worry us what was out there.

We were sitting around the crackling fire. Outside the wind was blowing and shrieking. The storm blew like a scary, terrible monster. The wind sounded like a roaring lion. The lightning hit a tree and the tree fell down. Luckily the burning fire made me feel so warm.

We were sitting around the crackling fire. Outside the wind was so loud and so cold that I had to have many jumpers on. The thunder was so loud it was blasting my ears. The wind was screeching. It was terrible. The trees were falling like it was an earthquake, but luckily the fire was burning hot, so I wouldn't get too cold. The noise of the thunder was so loud it gave me a headache.

  1. I have a fire at home and these pieces of writing remind me how lucky I am to be cosy and warm inside while outside the wind and the ran threaten us like the chanting crowds of the opposition at a football game.
